The economic aspect is huge to the area. Not only are larger vacant spaces being filled, but complementary businesses are developing and expanding. The restaurant industry is carrying the craft beers produced by local brewers and the tap rooms offer a wide variety of local options. The regional breweries are buying a lot of supplies locally and therefore its supporting our local workforce directly and indirectly. A whole economy is growing from the resurgence of this segment of the market.
Apart from the economic aspect, the breweries are creating a tourism industry of their own. More and more people are following "brewery routes" across the country and in our local area this is apparent. This is great for regional tourism - it brings more people and a different type of tourist that we may never have attracted and ultimately more money into our businesses and also into the State coffers.
Herewith plotted on this Google Map a number of the local breweries.
